Charles Newman
CEO
Charles Newman is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of ReCellular Inc.
Mr. Newman has been an entrepreneur since starting his first company while an undergraduate at the University of Michigan in 1961. Among the companies he founded were Astrotype, the developers of the first computerized word processor, CompuMart, the first retail computer store in Michigan, and Rent-A-Byte, the first computer rental store in the United States. He also founded the Jewish Community Center of Ann Arbor and the Michigan Israel Business Bridge to promote economic development between Michigan and Israel.
Mr. Newman is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hillel, the Foundation for Jewish Campus Life and was President of the Michigan Jewish Conference. He was a founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Ann Arbor, a member of the Board of Directors of Gelman Science, the Wireless Foundation and the University of Michigan Alumni Association.
Mr. Newman received his Bachelor of Science in 1963, and Masters of Science in 1964, both from the University of Michigan. Mr.Newman’s current volunteer positions include being a member of the Board of Directors of Hillel, Eastern Michigan University Hillel, the International Myeloma Foundation, the Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute at the University of Michigan and the NephCure Foundation.
Sharon and Chuck Newman have four children and four grandchildren. They reside in Ann Arbor.
Joe Morrow
President and COO
Joe Morrow is the Chief Operating Officer and President of ReCellular Inc and is responsible for guiding the profitable growth of the company.
Previously, Joe was the President of Enlighten, one of the nation’s leading interactive marketing agencies, where he was responsible for guiding the growth of the company, improving its profitability, and providing strategic marketing leadership for its clients.
Prior to Enlighten, most of Joe’s career was spent in management consulting with stints as the Managing Director of Morningstar Consulting Group, a Partner with Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, and as a consultant with both AT Kearney and McKinsey & Company. He has advised clients on a wide variety of strategic, operational, and organizational issues in a range of industries including wireless telecom, automotive, information technology, and financial services.
Joe has a JD/MBA from the University of Chicago and a Master's Degree in International Business from Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies from the University of Michigan.
Joe and his wife, Carol, have four children: Madeleine, Troy, Caroline, and Liam.
John Dobrowolski
CFO
John Dobrowolski is the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for all of ReCellular’s worldwide financial and information technology functions. He also leads ReCellular strategic and business planning and process improvement efforts.
Mr. Dobrowolski was the previous CFO at Demmer Corporation, a supplier of machine and stamped metal parts for the automotive, defense, aerospace, and commercial industries, based in Lansing, Michigan. At Demmer, Mr.Dobrowolski significantly improved the firm’s financial footing and implemented a companywide IT expansion program. He also launched, financed and operated the firm’s real estate development company, Demmer Properties.
Prior to his time at Demmer, Mr. Dobrowolski also served as CFO and VP/Finance at Kalamazoo-based Fabri-Kal Corporation, one of America’s largest manufacturers of disposable plastic food packaging. He was a key member of the team that brought financial stability and long-term profitability to Fabri-Kal’s operations. In his role as CFO, he was responsible for finance, accounting, treasury, IT human resources, credit management, risk management, and corporate planning.
Mr. Dobrowolski holds a Bachelor in Accounting from Michigan State University and is a certified public accountant. He served as volunteer chairperson of the Three Rivers Area Hospital Authority, a community-owned, non-profit regional medical center and health care organization located in Three Rivers, Michigan.
Ramarao Srinivasa
CIO
Ramarao Srinivasa (Srini) is the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for enabling profitable business growth by providing Information Technology strategy and its execution.
Srini brings to Recellular more than 23 years of Business and Information Technology experience developed over his career at Digital Equipment Corporation, IBM, Satyam, Logica and Valassis. As Director of IT at Valassis, Srini was responsible for all software applications. As General Manager of Satyam he led a global team of consultants delivering business solutions to Automotive sector. He advised clients in discrete, process and government sectors as a Consultant at Digital and IBM. He has extensive global experience leading business innovation, process reengineering and systems implementation efforts, including manufacturing control systems, purchasing, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and health care systems.
Srini serves on the IT Advisory Board of Eastern Michigan University. He is active in the Society for Information Management and is a member of 2008 event planning/organizing committee for Detroit chapter of SIM.
Srini holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Bangalore University and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University.
Srini and his wife Tracey reside in Novi, MI. Srini has two children, Achyut and Suchet. Srini enjoys traveling, is an avid golfer and tennis player.
Eric Forster
Vice President
Eric Forster has been with ReCellular since the founding in 1991. Mr. Forster has been responsible for all domestic and international sales and procurement of wireless handsets, including customer service and new business development, both domestic and international markets.
Upon joining the company, Mr. Forster established numerous strategic relationships for sales and product procurement. Such relationships include, but are not limited to, Cingular Wireless (formerly BellSouth Mobility and SBC Communications), Verizon Wireless (formerly Bell Atlantic, GTE Wireless), Nokia Mobile Phones, Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (Wireless Foundation). Mr. Forster was instrumental in increasing revenues from inception of $700,000 to $14 million in the first 3 years.
Other related responsibilities included maintaining all sales and procurement policies and procedures, competitive analysis, departmental and organizational development. Mr. Forster has been instrumental in leading environmental efforts in the procurement and distribution channels. Other notable accomplishments include creating and developing the corporate identity, branding and positioning.
Mr. Forster is currently leading a team to develop new products and services that will extend the marketplace the company serves today. His new initiatives support the company’s leadership position in the secondary wireless industry, while creating new revenue and profit streams to strengthen future growth.
Mr. Forster holds a Bachelor in Business and Administration from Eastern Michigan University, and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He has maintained an active role with EMU serving as a member of the Board of Directors for The National Alumni Association of EMU.
Mike Newman
Vice President
Michael Newman leads ReCellular Sales, Marketing and Customer Service departments. Under his leadership, ReCellular has further expanded market penetration and product offerings within the secondary wireless industry.
Mr. Newman has been instrumental in establishing a greater retail market presence by implementing unique and successful phone collection programs. He is responsible for launching a new visual identity, via innovative electronic and print marketing and advertising.
Prior to joining ReCellular, Mr. Newman served as National Political Representative for the Sierra Club. In that role, he directed the organizations multi-million dollar political activities in 20 states. Mr. Newman was the organizational liason for the Gore 2000 presidential campaign and successfully coordinated activities in seven states. He also served as a national spokesperson on electoral, clean water and related environmental issues.
Mr. Newman holds a B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. He serves on the board of the Michigan League of Conservation Voters and is an active distance runner.
Suman Dutta
Vice President
Suman Dutta, leads ReCellular’s Enterprise Business Unit which is focused on meeting the demanding and unique needs of large corporations and government entities. Mr. Dutta brings over 17 years experience in sales marketing and new product launches. His extensive experience in wireless, risk management and managed services provides him the unique position to deliver integrated products that allow clients and partners to easily and securely dispose of cellular technology.
Before joining ReCellular, Mr. Dutta was instrumental in launching Asurion Managed Wireless’ entry in to corporate and government space. Mr. Dutta established partner relationships with OEM’s, carriers and directly with dozens of Fortune 500 companies while taking the divisional start up to 20 million in sales in under three years. Prior to Asurion Managed Wireless, Mr. Dutta held senior corporate sales and marketing roles at American International Group and Thompson Financial.
Mr. Dutta is a graduate of the University of Michigan and holds a B.A. in Economics. Mr. Dutta is an avid stoneware and ceramic potter and has traveled to Korea to learn pottery from the original masters.
Mike Kay
Vice President
Mike Kay has been a leader and innovator at ReCellular Inc. since 1999. He has been a long-time industry player as Controller for a $100 million pre-paid calling card company prior to joining the ReCellular team. Mr. Kay brings a unique perspective to the executive team having owned a successful construction company prior to joining ReCellular. Mr. Kay brings more than 17 years expertise in finance, accounting and management. He has been responsible for purchasing all handsets on behave of ReCellular for nearly a decade. He is responsible for auction trading, product procurement and sales as well as overseeing the accounts of major carriers, operators and manufactures. Mr. Kay is a tactful leader, actively entrenched and well-versed in all facets of the company.
Mr. Kay holds a Finance degree from Eastern Michigan University. He devotes his spare time to his family and children, his greatest joy and pride.
Adele Fransko
Vice President
Adele Fransko joined ReCellular in 2006 as the Director of Global Human Resources and Administration. Ms.Fransko is responsible for leading all aspects of human resources worldwide including talent acquisition and retention, workforce training and development, compensation, benefits, policy development, and various other corporate initiatives.
Prior to joining ReCellular Ms. Fransko held the position of Director of Human Resources with a global manufacturing organization. Within this position she supported multiple manufacturing facilities and corporate staff through strategic partnerships, human resource planning, executive coaching, job design and analysis, talent acquisition and retention strategies, training and development, and collaboration projects with site leadership.
Ms. Fransko also served as the Director of Global Organizational Development, North American Human Resources and Administration for a global telecommunications firm where she had overall financial and operating responsibility for the Corporate Administrative Services Operating Unit for all North American locations. She successfully managed all aspects of human resources and administration, transforming the role of human resources from an administrative cost center to one of a true global strategic business partner.
Ms. Fransko holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. She is also a graduate of the Disney Executive Leadership Institute and has previously served as the Vice-President on The Board of Directors of SOS Community Services, a non-profit charitable organization serving the needs of homeless families in Washtenaw County.
John Boone
Director
John Boone joined ReCellular Inc. in 2005 taking over sales leadership for the company’s largest division. Mr. Boone was motivated to join ReCellular to build needed infrastructure to accelerate revenue scalability. As Director of Product Sales, he is spearheading the expansion of a globally facing product sales team. He brings over 17 years of sales and marketing experience to ReCellular’s executive team and is credited with vastly improving the company’s inventory turnover.
Mr. Boone has previously held positions as Director of Global Sales and General Manager of Wise Solutions, helping the organization grow from $12 Million to $26 Million and in exceeding Wall Street’s accretion target successfully integrating his global team into Altiris, Inc. after the company’s acquisition. Prior to Wise, Mr. Boone held positions as VP, Sales & Marketing for Knowledge Computing Corporation, launching all aspects of the company’s product marketing and sales operations and with Honeywell in a senior business development capacity in Enterprise, Healthcare, and Government markets.
Mr. Boone holds a B.A. in Business and an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona. He enjoys hiking western mountains, the great lakes, and is an avid golfer.
